MY WEEKLY ROUTINE AND MY NEIGHBORHOOD by Maira A. Moreno Guzmán

I get up every day at 6:00 am when my alarm clock rings. After that, I go to the bathroom, and I brush my teeth. Later, I take a shower. I get dressed and sometimes I make my breakfast, but usually my mother does. I brush my hair, and I watch the morning news. I really like it because I´m aware of the present in my country and the world. I don’t wash the dishes because I don’t have time. I make the bed, and I say goodbye to my mom. I catch the bus to my job. My typical morning at work is pretty busy. I work as Statistician. I have to analyze a lot of information. I always check my e-mail, and I read the news online. Then I start to work until 5:30pm. Throughout the day, I always eat a couple of snacks. I love them!. Lunch is usually around 12:30 or 1:00pm. During lunch I talk with my partners, and I check my social networks. My workplace isn’t very far from home. Sometimes I walk to home if I have enough time. When I arrive home I am usually very tired. I talk with my mother, and we cook dinner. We hardly ever have dinner in front of the TV. I never go to bed before 11:00pm because I watch TV. I really like sitcoms because they are pretty fun. Later, I like to listen quiet music or I read a book. Weekend is perfect time to relax and enjoy. On weekends I use to get up later. On Saturdays I take my English class in CCA. I love it, and I want to learn so much. On Sunday I go to the gym, and I go to church with my mom to mass. Later, I do the laundry and, I clean the house. On Sunday I often go out to eat with my family.  I love Mexican food. My parents prefer Italian food. In my free time I listen to music. Sometimes I go shopping. Twice a month I go to club with my friends.

I live downtown. It’s a convenient place because all is near to me. In my neighborhood there’s a project called “Tranvía for Medellín”. I’m very lucky to have such a project in my neighborhood because Tranvía is going to bring better life quality for our neighborhood also for the development of city. In my neighborhood there are a lot of night clubs. Also there are some fast-food places. There are a couple of college courses including computers, English courses, etc. There’s a big market called “Placita de Flores”. Many people buy there. There’s also “El Palacio de Bellas Artes”. This place has being around for over a century. In my neighborhood there’s a great place called “El Pequeño Teatro” just in front of my house.  About downtown I can say that is very noisy, but really that's no problem for me. There are no a big natural park. We need more green areas! My activities in my neighborhood are limited because I living in a commercial area. I don’t have much social activity to make new neighbors. I really like go to theater. I walk in the neighborhood even though pollution is a big obstacle for me. I can’t stand it! Sometimes I go shopping to Junín’s Mall because the space is very clean and healthy. I rarely go to grocery shopping with my mom because I think that is boring!
