My neighborhood and Maria's routine. By Piedad Naranjo Lozano

My neighborhood is the best.

I live in Calazans. I think that it is the best neighborhood because it’s very complete. There are a lot of schools and preschools and from Monday to Friday I take my baby to preschool at 8:00 a.m.  There’s a notary office. I usually go to authenticate the documents in this place. There are a lot of expensive restaurants and  fast food places. Sometimes, I go to eat out with my husband. There are a couple of big bakeries. There are some supermarkets, and every week I go to buy market things. There’s a beautiful train station, but I hardly ever take the train because I’m afraid of the infectious diseases such as tuberculosis that are common at these sites. There are a lot of churchs, and on Sundays in the evening, we go to mass at the nearest church with my family. There are a lot of banks. I often go to pay utility bills and cell phone bills. There is a big park where children play every afternoon. They love to skate, ride bikes, and slide down the slide. There are a lot of apartment buildings and I live on a fifth floor. There are a lot of swimming pools, but I don’t like them because they are very cold. There are a couple of casinos. There are a couple of malls with cinemas. I often go to buy and see movies. There are some gyms, but I like to go to Bodytech in the Colombia Avenue. It's near to my house and it’s very organized. My neighborhood has many things that make it a paradise.

Maria´s Routine

From Monday to Saturdays, Maria usually gets up early at 5:00 am. First, she makes her bed. She brushes her teeth. She takes a shower.  After that, she always makes breakfast and child’s lunchbox at 6:00 a.m. She eats her breakfast. Then she washes the dishes. She puts the clothes in the washer. At 10:00 a.m. Maria cleans the house. She makes lunch. When the child comes home from preschool she gives him lunch. At 1:00 pm she takes her lunch. After that, Maria washes the dishes again. Sometimes, she listens to music or watches TV. She makes some phone calls every afternoon. She plays with the child. Then she makes and takes dinner. She Brushes her teeth. Finally, she prays and goes to sleep at 8:30 pm. On Sundays Maria goes out with her daughter, but often she travels with us to other cities.
